Coordinator of Human Resources
The State Education Resource Center (SERC) is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Coordinator of Human Resources. The Coordinator will assist the Directors and the entire SERC Staff in supporting and developing a multi-racial, multi-cultural team through effective employee relations, professional and personnel development, performance management, and policy development. The ideal candidate is ready for a challenging HR role in a high energy agency, which is committed to diversity and equity in the workplace. SERC is also continuing its efforts to become more adaptable, resilient, and outcome based regarding the performance of its workforce.
SERC is seeking an experienced HR professional who is passionate about an equitable hands-on approach to problem solving while building relationships across all positions of the organization. This position is new to SERC, so the candidate must be able to collaboratively and proactively design, monitor, and evaluate policy, structures, and practices across the agency that are reflective of SERC’s vision and mission to promote an equitable and inclusive environment and opportunities. The position will require an HR representative that is deeply knowledgeable about the design of work systems in which people grow, succeed, and contribute.

Candidates must have 5+ years of HR experience and a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management or a related degree.
Applicants must have a demonstrated ability to:
- Recruit, screen, and orient new employees for all assignments and positions;
- Coordinate and execute employment processes, associated paperwork, and data entry for new hires and status changes;
- Facilitate the induction and orientation of new hires in collaboration with SERC’s Coordinator of Workforce Development;
- Communicate and administer all benefit plans for the employees and perform the necessary duties for local claims handling, explanation of coverage, resolution of problems, annuity plan provisions, Teachers Retirement Board provisions, and pre-retirement counseling;
- Collaboratively identify competencies necessary in an equity-driven workplace with a highly skilled and highly diverse staff working in multiple locations;
- Ensure employment practices for equity, access, and opportunity;
- Coordinate the establishment of work rules, corrective action procedures, and the due process system to assure that they are administered in a fair and equitable manner;
- Collaboratively and proactively provide employee development opportunities, employee assistance programs, and organizational development interventions through strategic policies, structures, and practices;
- Address legal issues regarding employment and benefits;
- Use data for analysis, statistical reporting, and communication to various staff, stakeholders, and partners for multiple purposes;
- Actively collaborate with the Coordinator of Workforce Development.
Candidates must also have exceptional written and oral communication skills; collaboration and communication skills needed to work with and support a broad constituency in a highly diverse environment, which includes employees from racially, culturally, ethnically, or linguistically diverse backgrounds and persons with disabilities; demonstrated experience reaching out to diverse communities to build partnerships to achieve desired results, including workforce development and community development; and knowledge of ADA, Title IX, and labor law.

Teaching & Learning Specialist (specific expertise in Differentiated Instruction, Co-Teaching, and Analyzing Student Work)
Early Intervening Specialist (specific expertise in utilizing strategic decision making in order to design and implement appropriate interventions to support students demonstrating academic/behavioral needs)
Candidates must have a Masters degree in education (general, special) or a related field, although a Sixth Year Certificate or Doctorate is preferred. SERC Consultants design and oversee implementation of SERC’s various training and technical assistance initiatives and partnerships. They also provide on-site professional development and technical assistance to partnership schools and districts.
Ideal applicants will be required to demonstrate effectiveness in a highly collaborative environment, manage multiple priorities independently, manage initiative and project development, and possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
Applicants must have specific education, expertise, and experience in:
general education and/or special education, including strong knowledge of effective curriculum and teaching strategies that meet the needs of diverse learners in general education settings; experience working in public schools or programs; demonstrated ability in heterogeneous, inclusive settings; and experience in design, delivery, and evaluation of professional development .
