Transportation Requirements for Preschoolers
Question: I'm hoping you can clear up this question for me. Years ago when apreschooler was determined to need speech/language services and the parent could not provide transportation to the school, we either bussed the student to school or went to the daycare center to provide the services. I was under the assumption that this was required by law. What are the current requirements for schools in this situation today?
Answer: Transportation continues to be a related service. You can either reimburse the parents or bus the child (to and from a place within district lines - you are not required to transport to or from a daycare in another town).
