Role in Literacy
The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) has developed
several important documents for SLPs as they link oral language
to literacy. These include practice guidelines and a technical report
describing Roles and Responsibilities of Speech-Language Pathologists
With Respect to Reading and Writing in Children and Adolescents
(2001) and the recently published Knowledge and Skills Needed by
Speech-Language Pathologists with Respect to Reading and Writing
in Children and Adolescents (2002).
