Focus on Autism Initiative
Guidelines for Identification and Education of Children and Youth with Autism.
(1.5mb pdf)
The
goal of SERC's Focus on Autism initiative is to provide professional
development opportunities for families and educators to increase their
knowledge of a wide variety of insights and approaches regarding the
education of children with autism. The Focus on Autism Initiative
was created as a response to findings of the Connecticut Task Force
on Issues Relating to the Education of Children with Autism. The report
identified some of the current best practices for educating children
with autism and urged that more training opportunities be made available
for families and educators.
